SNAFU Con's First AMV Contest! Index

SNAFU Con's AMV Contest will show on both Friday and Saturday to allow as many people to view and vote on the videos as possible.

To submit an AMV, please read through all of the rules and submission guidelines.

Also, if you have any questions please email [email protected]. This is our first year doing an AMV Contest, so there may be many changes to this page along the way.

Contest Type Index

We will accept two types of entries for the AMV contest. First will be competition pieces which will be considered for an award. Entries to this category may only be submitted by SNAFU Con attendees with a paid preregistration weekend badge for the contest year. (Note: Preregistration isn't open yet, so go ahead and submit and we'll poke at you once reg is open so you can qualify. 2/1/2014)

We are also accepting exhibition pieces which are to be played during the contest but will not be considered for an award.

Submitting a video does not necessarily guarantee that it will be played during the AMV Contest show. We will be attempting to show all videos submitted, However, priority is given to Competition entries, and if we are running short on time, Exhibition entries will be cut first. Additionally, we will cut any entries which violate any rules, or any entries which are of particularly poor quality.

We are aware that mistakes can be made, both on the editor's end and our own. Be sure you have given yourself enough time to be able to work with us to correct any such mistakes before the con begins by not waiting until the last minute to submit your video.

Video Format Index

Send us the best possible video quality you have.

Please keep the aspect ratio consistent in your video. Ideally it should be the same in your video as your source material. Our projectors and screens are ideally sized for 4:3 but any common aspect ratio will be accepted.

We prefer that your format be either MPEG or AVI. We will accept most other formats.

How to Submit Index

Please host your video on any common video-hosting service which allows you to post it at full quality.

We do have animemusicvideos.org accounts and recommend that service for hosting your video.

Once you have a video hosted where we can download it, email the link to [email protected] and we will download and review your video. In your email, please include your legal name as it is in the registration system (so we can find your registration) and the video information such as the name you want as the authors name or nickname, used song (name and artist), video sources (list of all used anime and manga). We will contact you if there are any problems with your submission.

Submissions are due to us by 9/1.
